Depart this morning for Portland, Oregon’s largest city and one of the world’s best walking cities. On route, visit Mount Rainier National Park and Mount St. Helens, both active volcanoes and part of the Northwest ‘ring of fire’. Portland’s downtown is ideal for strolling, flanked by leafy parks along the Willamette River and evergreen-shrouded forests laced with hiking trails in the foothills to the west. Spend the next two nights in Portland.

Spend the day at leisure. Perhaps take a culinary walking tour through eclectic neighbourhoods, sample beer at one of the city’s breweries, visit a Farmers Market or enjoy a crafty cocktail at a Portland board game bar.

Today, head to Cannon Beach and enjoy stunning coastline views and remarkable natural areas that blend with a charming city by the sea. Take a selfie in front of the famous Haystack Rock, Oregon’s most recognisable landmark. Arrive in Coos Bay and reconnect with nature on Oregon’s South Coast. Overnight in Coos Bay.

Leave Coos Bay this morning and travel via Gold Beach, Brookings and through iconic Redwood National Park. Arrive in Eureka and explore its historic waterfront, local shops and restaurants. Overnight in Eureka.

Today, drive along the coast on US 101 to California’s most iconic wine region. Santa Rosa is a city with a cool vibe and vibrant culture ready and waiting to be explored. Overnight in Santa Rosa.

This morning, board the Napa Valley Wine train for a tranquil rail journey. Watch the beautiful scenery of Napa Valley pass by as you enjoy a gourmet lunch. Join the Winery team for a seated tasting hosted on the beautiful outdoor patio at their Rutherford property, with a special selection of wines from estate vineyards. Today’s journey continues to San Francisco, a city that many consider to be the most beautiful city in America. Spend the next two nights in San Francisco.

Join a half-day city tour visiting Union Square, the Civic Center, Fisherman’s Wharf and enjoy spectacular views from the top of Twin Peak. This afternoon is free to explore at your own pace. Perhaps take a cable car ride to Fisherman’s Wharf, a boat ride to Alcatraz Island (extra charge) or visit Union Square for a spot of shopping. Tonight, you have the option to enjoy

Today, travel along California’s spectacular coastline and experience two of America’s most famous coastal drives, 17-Mile Drive and Big Sur. Take in the pristine beaches and dramatic coastal cliffs of Monterey Bay Peninsula and
pass through the charming town of Carmel before arriving in Monterey. This afternoon, venture down to Cannery Row on the waterfront and visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium (extra charge). Overnight in Monterey.

Leave Monterey this morning and travel to Solvang, a Danish inspired village nestled in Santa Ynez Valley. This afternoon is free to explore at your own pace. Perhaps stroll down the main street and sample the many delights on offer at a European bakery, visit a winery or hop on the Solvang Trolley for a tour of the town (extra charge). Overnight in Solvang.

This morning, travel to Los Angeles. Enjoy a city tour including a brief stop in Santa Monica, the finishing line of Historic Route 66, Hollywood and the famous Hollywood walk of Fame. For movie fans, why not spend the afternoon at Universal Studios (extra charge). Spend the next two nights
in Los Angeles.

Today is at leisure to explore Los Angeles at your own pace. Or perhaps take an optional full day excursion to San Diego, California’s second largest city (extra charge).
