Itinerary
Arrive independently at London Euston train station, where you will meet your guide and fellow travellers. Board a train for the journey to Oxenholme, the gateway to the Lake District. Be met on arrival for a guided tour of the Southern Lake District. Visit Hill Top Farm, the first Lakeland home of Beatrix Potter. Then explore medieval Hawkshead village where young William Wordsworth attended school and where Beatrix Potter spent much of their time.
Next, take to the water and enjoy a relaxing cruise across Lake Windermere with its breath-taking scenery before enjoying a traditional cream tea of fresh scones, clotted cream and jam.
Check in at the beautiful Lindeth Howe Hotel, once purchased by Beatrix Potter for her mother to reside in, decorated with beautiful theming throughout. This evening enjoy a dinner sourced from local produce before retiring for the first of a two night stay.
Today is a pure celebration of the outstanding scenery for which the Lake District is renowned. Sit back and enjoy magnificent mountains, lakes and valleys from the south to the north, seeing the Ten Lakes on the journey.
Enjoy free time for lunch in the market town of Keswick and see the Castlerigg Stone Circle, which dates back to 3000 BC and is thought to be older than Stonehenge.
This afternoon visit Grasmere, a picture perfect Lakeland village, nestled between the mountains. A visit to Grasmere’s historic gingerbread shop which has been making gingerbread since 1854 is a must.
Return to your hotel and enjoy a free evening, consider a visit to one of the local pubs or restaurants.
