Itinerary

Arrive in Las Vegas and visit the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign for photos. Continue to the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, followed by the Gallery of Fine Art and the famous Bellagio Fountain Show. After lunch, explore Caesars Palace, wander through the Forum Shops, admire the replica of Michelangelo’s David, and watch the Fall of Atlantis animatronic show. In the afternoon, ride the High Roller Observation Wheel at The LINQ for panoramic city views. Enjoy dinner before heading downtown to the Fremont Street Experience, featuring live music, the Viva Vision Light Show, and the adrenaline‑filled SlotZilla Zipline.
 

Depart Las Vegas via US‑95 North. Upon arrival in Beatty, explore the town’s Old West charm and optionally visit the Beatty Museum.
In the afternoon, drive to Rhyolite Ghost Town to explore early 20th‑century ruins, including the famous Tom Kelly Bottle House, built using approximately 50,000 bottles. Continue to the Goldwell Open Air Museum, home to striking outdoor sculptures such as The Last Supper, Lady Desert, and Ghost Rider.
Return to Beatty and stop at the Death Valley Nut & Candy Company. For dinner, Happy Burro Chili & Beer is highly recommended.
Later in the evening, consider a drive into Death Valley National Park for unforgettable stargazing.
 

Travel north on US‑95 and stop at the International Car Forest of the Last Church near Goldfield a surreal desert art installation featuring cars buried nose‑first in the ground.
Continue to Tonopah. After lunch, visit the Tonopah Historic Mining Park with a self‑guided tour of the Mizpah Mine Yard, including the Desert Queen and Silver Top Mine areas.
After dinner, head to the Tonopah Stargazing Park, one of Nevada’s premier dark‑sky locations.
 

Drive north to Hawthorne (approx. 2 hours). Enjoy lunch at the historic El Capitan Lodge, then continue north on US‑95 and west on US‑50 to Carson City.
Visit the Nevada State Museum, featuring a walk‑through mine replica and exhibits on Nevada’s geology. Take a self‑guided tour of the Nevada State Capitol and Battle Born Hall.
In the evening, stroll through Carson City’s historic downtown.
 

Begin with a visit to the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center. Late morning, drive to Virginia City, a beautifully preserved mining town.
Ride the historic Virginia & Truckee Railroad, tour Piper’s Opera House (extra cost), and explore the wooden boardwalks, old saloons like the Bucket of Blood, and an underground mine tour.
As evening approaches, join a Virginia City ghost tour (extra cost) before returning to Carson City.
 

Enjoy a scenic 1‑hour drive to Lake Tahoe. Spend the afternoon exploring Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park and hike a section of the Tahoe Rim Trail.
Relax at Sand Harbor Beach, swim, or rent kayaks to experience the crystal‑clear water. In the evening, enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on Lake Tahoe (extra cost).
 

Drive the spectacular Mt. Rose Scenic Byway, stopping at scenic overlooks. Spend time hiking at Diamond Peak (or skiing in winter).
Optional visit to Thunderbird Lodge for a guided tour of this historic lakeside estate (extra cost). In the evening, continue to Reno and enjoy the city’s nightlife or relax at your resort.
 

Spend the morning exploring Reno. Visit the National Automobile Museum (extra cost), stroll along the Truckee Riverwalk District, and take photos beneath the iconic “Biggest Little City in the World” arch. Travel on to San Francisco where you'll stay for the next two nights. 
 

Start your San Francisco adventure at Fisherman’s Wharf, watching sea lions at Pier 39 and sampling fresh seafood. Walk along the waterfront or take a harbor cruise for views of Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge. In the afternoon, explore North Beach (Little Italy) before riding a historic cable car through the city. End the day at Union Square for shopping and dining.
 

Begin with a walk or bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, then visit Golden Gate Park, home to the California Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, and Japanese Tea Garden.
In the afternoon, explore the colorful streets of Haight‑Ashbury or visit the Painted Ladies at Alamo Square.
Finish your trip with dinner in Chinatown or along the Embarcadero, soaking in your final views of the Bay.
